◆ABOUT
デザイン、グラフィックでの経験を経て､ 2020年よりアーティスト活動を開始。現在愛媛を拠点に活動している｡
生き物をモチーフに白と黒のコントラストから表現できる上品で洗練された世界観と、視覚的に捉えられない内なる感情や生命力の具現化をコンセプトに作品を制作している。
｢現代の情報化社会｣を制作テーマに掲げ、生き物の目を覆い隠す事で、見えない感情を意図的イメージさせるImagineシリーズの作品を展開している。

◆ ABOUT
After gaining experience in design and graphic arts, R･Y･O launched their career as an artist in 2020. Currently based in Ehime, Japan, the artist creates works featuring living creatures as motifs. The core concept centers on embodying unseeable inner emotions and life force, capturing an elegant and sophisticated world through the stark contrast of black and white. Guided by the overarching theme of "modern information society," R･Y･O develops the Imagine series, which deliberately evokes unseen emotions by obscuring the eyes of the subjects.

◆STATEMENT
幼初期から生き物が生活の中に関わっていたことから、癒し、愛情、死というものを経験し、言葉では通じない生き物と意識的に通じ合える事に興味、関心をもった事がきっかけとなり、視覚的に捉えられない内なる感情や生命力を作品に反映させている。

R･Y･Oの作品は、生き物の目を覆い隠したゴールドを特徴とし、
見る方の想像や感情が加わることで初めて一つの作品として完成する。

｢現代の情報化社会｣をテーマに掲げたimagineシリーズ．．．
生き物の目を覆い隠す事で、見えない感情を意図的にイメージさせる“Imagine“シリーズ。
目は感情を表すが、それを覆い隠す事によって内なる感情によりフォ－カスし、最後は見る者の想像や感情を加える事で一つの作品として完成する。
現代の情報化社会において、ネットで検索すれば必要な情報が容易に手に入る反面、世に出回る情報に翻弄され、自分達で物事を想像する機会が減っていると感じる。

目を覆い隠された作品と向き合い、色彩からも感じ取れる内なる感情を想像しながら、
“Imagine“を通して自分なりの答えを導き出せる想像力を養う一つのきっかけになって頂けたら幸いです。

◆ STATEMENT
Having been surrounded by living creatures since early childhood, I experienced firsthand the depths of comfort, affection, and mortality. This sparked a deep fascination with how humans can consciously connect with non-verbal beings, inspiring me to reflect invisible inner emotions and life force within my work.
Characterized by the use of gold to obscure the eyes of living creatures, R･Y･O’s artwork achieves true completion only when infused with the imagination and emotions of the viewer.
The Imagine Series: Exploring the "Modern Information Society"
The Imagine series deliberately prompts viewers to envision unseen emotions by obscuring the eyes of the subjects. While eyes traditionally express emotion, concealing them shifts the focus entirely to the internal feelings within. Ultimately, the piece is completed only when the viewer projects their own imagination and emotions onto it. In today's information-driven society, while searching the internet grants effortless access to necessary data, we are often overwhelmed by the sheer volume of external information. Consequently, I feel we are losing opportunities to imagine and think independently.
By confronting these subjects with covered eyes and imagining the inner emotions conveyed through the color palette, I hope Imagine serves as a catalyst for viewers to cultivate their own imagination and derive their own unique answers.
